About us

Who we are?

The Centre for Integration of Foreigners (CIC) is a non-profit organization that has been supporting foreigners in their integration into Czech society since 2003. Through a range of services and programs, we assist migrants at various stages of their integration process.tým

CIC was founded with the primary goal of providing social counseling. Over time, however, we expanded our focus to include other key areas essential for successful integration. Even after more than 20 years, social counseling remains at the core of our activities, complemented by two additional registered services: social rehabilitation and social activation services. Over the years, we have also developed a wide range of Czech language courses, and through our volunteer program and further education initiatives, we actively contribute to fostering a more inclusive society for immigrants.

WHER WE ARE?

CIC was founded in Prague, where its main office remains to this day. Over the years, however, we have expanded, and we now have branches in Kladno, Kolín, Mladá Boleslav, and Liberec. In addition, we are available periodically at various counseling locations. You can find our contact information here.

HOW WE WORK

Mission
  • We support immigrants in their integration into Czech society through social services, education, and other activities.
  • We work to create a more inclusive and fair environment that encourages immigrants' social participation and integration.

Core Values
  • Equality
  • Responsibility
  • Individual approach
  • Freedom of choice

Vision
  • A society with rules and mechanisms that allow newcomers to integrate without the need for extraordinary support or protection.
  • A society that sees newcomers as individuals rather than members of ethnically, racially, religiously, or otherwise defined groups.

Principles
  • We promote the active participation of immigrants in society and their understanding of its structure, language, and customs.
  • We do not aim to create separate immigrant networks but rather connections between newcomers and long-term residents.
  • We encourage newcomers to build professional, social, and personal relationships that help prevent stigmatization, segregation, and exclusion from mainstream society.
  • We support the civic integration of newcomers in the interest of a stable and open society.

WHAT WE DO

Social services for foreigners

We currently offer three registered social services, provided by professional and well-trained social workers. We are also a member of the Union of Social Services. Our services focus on general counseling (residency issues, dealing with authorities, etc.), employment and labor market counseling, and family support services.

Our social services are designed to assist clients in difficult life situations as they adapt to a new society. At the same time, we emphasize individual needs and respect the freedom of choice of all our clients.

Czech language coourses for foreigners

Language skills are a key factor in successful integration into society. At CIC, we offer a wide range of Czech language courses for foreigners: courses for adults, children, families, and specialized courses tailored to specific needs. Our courses are led by experienced teachers, most of whom have completed our Teaching Skills Course. Many of our classes are taught using original, accessible teaching methodologies developed by our team.

Our expert team is committed to sharing its knowledge and experience. One of CIC’s flagship programs is the Teaching Skills Course, a professional qualification program for educators. We also regularly organize workshops for teachers and lecturers on various topics. Additionally, we train public administration officials and social workers through accredited courses certified by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (MPSV) and the Ministry of the Interior (MV).

Volunteer programm

Integration is also about making friends and getting to know your surroundings. Through our volunteer program, we help foreigners become familiar with Czech culture and create spaces for meaningful interactions between immigrants and locals. Want to get involved? Join us! You can become a mentor, tutor, or organizer of leisure activities.
